ASUS announced today its latest ultraportable notebook computer, the 12-inch U6E. The notebook runs an Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2GHz processor with 4MB L2 cache and 800 MHz FSB. The machine ships with 2GB of DDR2 667MHz RAM and up to a 256MB HDD or a 160Gb hybrid drive with 256Mb of flash storage.

The chipset used is the Intel Mobile PM965/ICH8M. ASUS installs Windows Vista Business and graphics are via NVIDIA 8400M.

Other features include a fingerprint reader, built-in 0.3MP webcam and super multi drive. The system is available from Best Buy in a brown color for $1799 right now. That is a good price considering the size and features of the machine.
