The new Eee is also said to integrate WiMAX for mobile internet access. The resolution of the larger screen is 1024x600, which will address one of the most common complaints on the current Eee, the lack of screen space.
Reports say that the new Eee could be based on the upcoming Intel Menlow notebook platform which would put a 45nm Silverthorne processor under the hood with very significant power savings as compared to current Eee PCs. No word on potential pricing for the new Eee, but the screen alone is said to be $15-$20 more to add and consider the processor upgrade and WiMAX and we will likely see the cost of the next generation Eee pushed into the $600 to $700 range.
