The Eye-Fi card is not a new item, we have covered it before here at I4U. Eye-Fi is a SD memory card with 2GB of storage space that features built-in WiFi connectivity allowing you to upload images you shoot directly to your PC or websites as you take them.

Eye-Fi announced a new downloadable update today that makes the card compatible with Mac systems. The upgrade allows the Mac Safari browser to access the Eye-Fi manager for upload directly to iPhoto or any of 19 other applications and websites.

"With iPhoto, Apple has made saving and managing photos a cornerstone of the Mac experience, so adding new Mac capabilities is an important step for Eye-Fi," said Ben Bajarin, analyst for Creative Strategies. "This new automatic import feature for iPhoto will save users time and hassle and deliver the seamless experience that Apple customers demand." The Eye-Fi card is available now for $99.99 and the update is included on new cards and available for download for existing owners of the Eye-Fi card.
