Radioshack is selling the Cinego D-1000 that appeared first at the CES 2005.
The Cinego is DLP home theater projector with built-in DVD Player and 2.1 sound system.
The Cinego D-1000 can project video with a size of 140 inch and up to 11 feet distance. The supported resolution is 854x480 pixels. Contrast ratio is 1500:1. ANSI lumens are only 550, which means only usable when in a dark room.
The stereo speakers are built into the projector, the subwoofer is extra.
The integration is very interesting and sounds convinient. It would be interesting to know how loud the fans are. I4U reader Terry D. emailed us saying that If you want to pay attention to it, you can hear the fans. He has not watched a movie with very silent passages but he think that people would ignore the fan noise. When you watch LOTR, fan noise is certainly not an issue. The noise elevates during a 3 minute cooling off period during shutdown.
RadioShack is exclusively selling the Cinego D-1000 for $1,299.99. Compare Prices on DLP Projectors.
Update: Cinego User Feedback:
Terry D. writes that he is using a Day-Lite 80 inch screen and is very pleased with the Cinego in darkend rooms. His only complaint is that the credit card sized remote requires too much learning, and for something that you have to use in the dark, it does not glow in the dark.
