eMachines announced a new budget desktop today called the T3642. The system sells for only $349.99 without a display. The T3642 uses an AMD Athlon 64 4000+ CPU at 2.6GHz and runs on Windows Vista Home Premium.

Graphics are via NVIDIA GeForce 6100 and the system has 1GB of DDR2 RAM expandable to 2GB. The hard drive is 250GB and the system includes a DVD super-multi drive and a 15-in-1 media reader. eMachines also announced a slightly more powerful system called the T5246 using a dual-core processor at $429.99.

The T5264 uses an Athlon 64 X2 4200+ processor at 2.2 GHz. Graphics care NVIDIA 6100 and the system uses 2GB of DDR2. The hard drive is 400GB and the system runs on Vista Home Premium.
