For 20 years USA Today has been running the Ad Meter for Super Bowl Ads, where a panel of selected users reports its second-by-second responses to the ads they watch.
Anheuser Bush has the top scoring Super Bowl ad again like the last 9 years. Considering how many commercials they place each year during Super Bowl it is no surprise.
The USA Today Ad meter is actually a nice way to watch all the Super Bowl 2008 ads online. The video player automatically plays one ad after the other starting with the best one. Ad Meter at USA Today.
How Ad Meter works:
The results are based on volunteers who chart their second-by-second
reactions to national Super Bowl commercials. Volunteers use hand-held
meters to register how much they liked or disliked an ad while a computer
averages the scores continuously. USA TODAY created the Super Bowl Ad Meter
in 1989 to gauge consumers' opinions about TV's most expensive commercials.
2008 marks the 20th anniversary for Ad Meter.
