In 2005 Russian design studio Artlebedev sparked huge interest for their OLED PC keyboard design. Three years later the OLED keyboard is shipping to the first customers who ordered in 2007.
We stopped reporting about the OLED keyboard a long time ago as delays just followed delays. Now the OLED keyboard is real, but the price is just not attractive. Artlebedev offers 4 configurations, 3 of them can be pre ordered right now.
The configurations include 1 active OLED button, 10 active OLED buttons, 47 OLED buttons and 113 OLED buttons.
The only really cool Optimus Maximus OLED keyboard is the full 113 active keys. For that you need to pay though $1,564.72.
It is disappointing that after 3 years they could not find a partner to bring this cool keyboard design to mass market production.
If you have the funds, you can order a Optimus Maximus OLED keyboard on the artlebedev store. See also the Optimus Maximus blog.
