Firefox Mobile to come to Smartphones in 2008

Mozilla has apparently started negotiations with carriers to see if they are interested in the Firefox Mobile browser.

Opera is already out there and competes with the Microsoft Explorer on Smartphones. I'm thinking Firefox maybe a little late to the game here.
Firefox is very successful on the desktop, so maybe they can take that momentum and use it in the mobile phone space.
