The drive is capable of 22x DVD+-R recording, 12X DVD-Ram recording, 16X DVD+R DL, 12X DVD-R DL, 8X DVD+RW recording and 6X DVD-RW recording. At those speeds a full 4.7GB DVD-RAM disk can be burned in only 12 minutes.
The drive also includes software to create music, video, data, and photo disks as well as Samsung’s live firmware update program. Automatic Ball Balancing system is used to reduce noise in the drive. The interface used for the SH-S223 is SATA.
