RCA introduced the Lyra X3000 portable media player at the CES 2006.
It was actually to ship right away in January back then. Yesterday PC Magazine published a review of RCA Lyra X3000, so I checked where it is available for purchase. Looks like Wal-mart has currently an exclusive on the RCA X3000. The new RCA PMP sells for $388.87.
RCA was one of the first to get into the portable video player game with the RCA Lyra RD2870.
The new Lyra X3000 features a 3.6 inch QVGA screen and supports Microsoft's PlaysForSure. Unlike the RD2870 the X3000 is also able to record video.
PC Magazine's review gives it a good rating, but mostly for its design and not for its performance. The bundled Sennheiser earbuds are a plus. That the X3000 only has a 20GB HDD is a bit backward.
