Japan launched Investigation into exploding Apple iPod nano

Japan is investigating a possible defect in Apple iPod players after one reportedly shot out sparks while recharging.

A Japanese official at the trade and economy ministry, which oversees product problems, said a defect is suspected in the lithium-ion battery in the iPod nano with the model number MA099J/A. The Japanese ministry has told Apple to find out the cause of the fire starting iPod nano.
