The LG Prada phone sold 800,000 units globally in its first year on the market.
LG says in an article on Chosun that they still sell the phone for 880,000 Won, about $870 and do not give discounts. O2 in Germany hands out the LG Prada for 50 Euro (~$80) with contract right now. I cannot really imagine that O2 eats all of the difference. If it is really the case that LG charged $870 for each of the 800,000 sold Prada phones than this is really a nice success for the company and the fashion label Prada.
Apparently Prada was not that found of the idea of making a mobile phone with LG back in 2005 when LG's marketing director first approached them.
More details on the Korea Chosun.
LG officially introduced the must have phone before the Apple iPhone in January of 2007.
