SRS Labs Releases Mobile Video Surround Sound

SRS Labs announced today that it has released a new surround sound technology aimed at mobile video watchers. The new technology is called SRS CS Headphone and can enable surround sound that is normally dormant in streamed and mobile video applications.

The new technology uses SRS’ Circle Surround technology and is optimized for low power devices. SRS CS Headphone promises to deliver the original 5.1 surround sound track programs were recorded with using only 2-channel stereo.

“Through the use of SRS Circle Surround Headphone technology in their mobile devices, manufacturers and wireless service providers can now captivate consumers with a 5.1 surround sound service and listening experience,” said Tom Yuen, CEO for SRS Labs. “Moreover, a fully optimized listening experience will significantly improve the consumer’s small screen viewing experience making it even that much more valuable to mobile TV service success.”
