Asus plans to introduce a $500 MID (Mobile Internet Device) in June dubbed Asus R50.
The Intel based Asus R50 MID features a 5.6 inch screen.
No details about this new device are official yet.
There are supposed to be tons of new MIDs coming with the new Intel ATOM chipset. If MIDs will sell better than UMPCs is still up in the air. They are basically the same thing, but hey, tech acrynyms have a short life - at least in marketing.
