The Holiday shopping season 2012 is soon coming to an end. Walmart has just launched a big surprise deal on the new Apple iPhone 5. Instead of the $189.97 Walmart normally charges for the latest iPhone, you only pay $127 right now for the iPhone 5 on contract with either of the available three carriers.
The iPhone 5 deal will be available for 30 days in 3,000 Walmart stores. The iPhone 5 is not sold online by Walmart, so you have to visit a store to get the $127 iPhone 5 deal.
According to Reuters the big iPhone 5 discount has been arranged with Apple. Discounts on the latest iPhone generation are rare. Best Buy has offered the iPhone 5 at a $50 discount for the past week. Walmart is beating their deal by $23.
It looks like Apple is looking to accelerate iPhone 5 sales. They might have stalled in the US. These new deals should trigger a big spike in iPhone 5 sales close to the end of 2012.
