Nokia is having a very difficult time competing in the smartphone market. The company has bet big on Windows Phone 8 and so far the operating system has failed to catch on in a significant way. Nokia has announced that it has canceled its plans to participate in CES 2013.
The company says that instead it will focus on Mobile World Congress happening in Spain at the end of February. I have to wonder if the move is a sign that Nokia might be leaning more towards focusing on Europe than the United States.
This might also be a sign that Nokia has no big devices in the works for early 2013. It could also mean that Nokia is working on a new device to become its flagship offering and simply doesn't want to repeat what happened at CES 2012. At CES 2012 Nokia unveiled the N900 only to see the actual launch of the phone delayed significantly from its introduction.
