Pokémon X and Pokémon Y to launch in October

If you're a fan of the Pokémon video game franchise, you'll be excited to hear that a new video game in the Pokémon universe is coming this year. The Pokémon Company and Nintendo announced today that Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will launch globally in October of 2013. The game will be exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS game system.

Details in the video game are light at this point. What we know is the game will have new storyline set in a spectacular 3-D world and players will be treated to dynamic battles. The games will also be the "blueprint" for an array of animation, toys, and other items that will debut around the world.

“The worldwide launch of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y this October allows players to begin their adventures at the same time,” said Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO of The Pokémon Company. “Now, Pokémon fans across the globe can discover the secrets of Pokémon games and can collect, battle, and trade with each other immediately.”

It meant a show was popular enough not just to warrant toys or a movie, but for multiple people to put on silly costumes and act out a comparatively dull episode in front of thousands of screaming fans. Pokémon did it, Rugrats probably did it, and Disney even had t ...

This Adorable Pikachu Burger Is About 15 Years Too Late

Source: Grub Street SF

Gotta ketchup 'em all! Rock Center's short-lived Pokémon store (2001-2005) sold the odd piece of Pikachu-themed candy — we should know, we were there all the time — but it was nothing like this deluxe Pikachu burger, which is set to be served at a pop-up café in Tokyo that's themed entirely around the little guy. Chez Pikachu is timed to promote the new movie Pokemon the Movie XY, and other offerings include a literally stellar Pikachu beef curr ...
