Amazon announced this week that its Amazon Instant Video app is now available for the Nintendo Wii console. The addition of the app to the Nintendo Wii allows users to stream movies and TV episodes from the Amazon Instant Video library that has over 145,000 movies and TV episodes.
The app was previously only available on the new Nintendo Wii U console that launched back in November. The app is free to download on the Nintendo Wii Shop Channel. Users do have to have a Amazon Instant Video subscription via a prime membership.
The app offers smart lists including recently watched, watchlist, your TV shows, and others to make it easy to find content. The app also has parental controls and a kids zone feature allowing parents to manage what the kids can watch. The app also supports whispersync allowing you to start a movie or show on the Wii and watch from the same spot on a different device.
