If you're a BlackBerry smartphone user, you probably purchased an app or two from BlackBerry App World. The next time you log on to the web interface for the online store you might notice that changes been made. BlackBerry App World has now become BlackBerry World.
RIM says that the name change was done to reflect the fact that there is more available than apps in the store. The store contains apps, music, and video content. The name change is part of the preparations to launch BlackBerry 10 later this month. RIM says that the name change could take up to 24 hours before it's viewable to everyone online.
The change will be rolled out to the smartphone and tablet interfaces in the coming weeks. The store supports the ability to browse, download, purchase, and manage apps from BlackBerry smartphones, tablets, and the desktop computer. The store also supports the ability to share content you like with friends over BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, and Twitter.
