The mobile videogame Temple Run 2 has been breaking records left and right since it launched only a few weeks ago. The videogame launched exclusively on the Apple App Store on January 17 scoring 6 million downloads in less than 24 hours. The game later launched on Google Playing in the Amazon Marketplace.
The game has now been downloaded over 170 million times. The videogame scored 50 million of those downloads in 13 days smashing the record previously held by Angry Birds Space for reaching the 50 milliondownload mark. Angry Birds Space took 35 days to reach 50 million downloads in April of 2012.
That means Temple Run 2 beat Angry Birds Space to the 50 million mark by 22 days. Temple Run developer Imangi Studios says that the popularity of the game has also resulted in a clothing deal that will see branded shirts and more coming to market.
