Super Bowl XLVII performed extremely well online
CBSSports.com has announced that Super Bowl XLVII set viewership records for viewers of the live stream online. The game was broadcast via CBSSports.com, NFL.com, and NFL Mobile from Verizon. The broadcast set multiple viewership records for a single-game sporting event in United States and is hailed as the most social telecast ever.

Metrics for the streaming broadcast come by way of Omniture and other third-party monitoring firms. According to CBS, the online livestream attracted 3 million unique viewers to its video player. That represents a 43% increase from last year's Super Bowl.
CBS also notes that viewers generated nearly 10,000,000 live video streams for 100% growth compared to last year. Those 10 million live video streams resulted in a record 114.4 million minutes streamed. CBS says that on average each viewer watched 38 min. of video.
