Sony PS4 Is Expected to Bring the Holodeck Nothing Less
Today at 6pm Sony has invited the world to a PlayStation event. Everything points to the unveiling of the Sony PS4. The expectations of what the Sony PS4 is about are staggering high. Sony needs a huge hit to compensate the problems in its consumer electronics units. In the video game market Sony fell behind as Microsoft kills with the Xbox 360 and is expected to come out with the Xbox 720 this year as well.
So what is Sony going to unveil today? A new way of gaming experience that is beyond Xbox Kinect? As the slow Wii U sales show, just to throw in a tablet in the mix is not the next big thing. We still will not get Star Trek's Holodeck in our living room, but maybe something close?
I already get the feeling that the PS4 will be a disappointment and just an incremental improvement over the PS3. But I am open to be surprised.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
