Google has possibly finally found something that is bigger than its search ad business - Google Glass. The project was more like a fun futuristic little project, but it looks like Google Glass could be the next really big thing.
The Verge' Joshua Topolsky has tested Google Glass and posted a great review with video (must watch!). It is pretty convincing that Google Glass really can change our way of life. We will have to get used to people wearing these small bars over their eyes. It could become just very normal in a very short period of time.
The voice controlled glasses bring augmented information to us in a new and amazing way. Just say: "Google a near by McDonald's" and boom the directions are in front of your eyes.
Google Glass gets data through Wi-Fi its own Wi-Fi or can tether via Bluetooth to an Android phone or iPhone and use its 3G or 4G connectivity. It also has a GPS chip. So Google Glass is not just an accessory for smartphones it can work on its own.
Google says that Google Glass will be on sale for consumers end of the year.
