Samsung is coming out in a pre-emptive strike saying that they work on a smartwatch. Apple is rumored since a while to develop the iWatch. Samsung basically tries to not look like a copy-cat and states on the record that they are working since years on a smart watch.
Lee Young Hee, Executive Vice President of Samsung's Mobile Business said to Bloomberg: "We’ve been preparing the watch product for so long," Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, said during an interview in Seoul. "We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them."
Could 2013 really be the year of the smart phone connected watch? I am really not sold on the concept. It is less controversial as the Google Glass, but do most consumers really need a smart watch?

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
