Power Outage Blogging

Source: Mother Jones

Meet Nokia Lumia 530 -- Microsoft's new entry-level Windows Phone 8.1 device

Source: BetaNews

Nokia Lumia 520 has proved to be an extremely important entry-level handset for Windows Phone, allowing the platform to reach more consumers and become more relevant in emerging markets. Its successor has to live up to high expectations, as it has to exceed the 12 million activations mark quicker than Lumia 520 has managed to, in order to be considered a success. Hands-on review: Nvidia Shield Tablet

Introduction and designYou'd have been forgiven for overlooking the Shield, Nvidia's slightly bizarre screen-meets-controller device - the whole thing felt a bit conceptual at the time of release, which is probably why Nvidia has continued to keep it locked safely inside the US.But since launch, the portable has gone from strength to strength: the introduction of Nvidia's Gamestream offered Shield users a bunch of new games that can be beamed straight from the ...

Why My LG Optimus Cellphone Is Worse Than It's Supposed To Be

Source: AppleSlashdot

Bennett Haselton writes My LG Optimus F3Q was the lowest-end phone in the T-Mobile store, but a cheap phone is supposed to suck in specific ways that make you want to upgrade to a better model. This one is plagued with software bugs that have nothing to do with the cheap hardware, and thus lower one's confidence in the whole product line. Similar to the suckiness of the Stratosphere and Stratosphere 2 that I was subjected to before this one, the phone's shortcomings actually r ...
