This is a great story of how a small news story evolves into a huge world-wide internet hype for an unknown actor from Dubai. Omar Borkan Al Gala is one of the three men removed from a Saudi Festival for being too handsome. He has now over 150,000 followers on Facebook and his name is in trending news around the world. A call from Hollywood is next?
Earlier this week an odd story made some headlines. Three men have been removed from a festival in Riyadh on Sunday for being to handsome by the Saudi Arabian religious police. The world wondered what guys that are too handsome would look like.
One of them revealed himself as Omar Borkan Al Gala. He is a fashion photographer, actor and poet according to his Facebook page. And I guess he does look handsome. Will this sudden hype around Omar Borkan Al Gala get him a call from Hollywood?
There is actually no proof that Omar Borkan Al Gala is indeed one of the three men from the original report. Either case it is a great PR stunt.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
