Apple is on Top of U.S. Smartphone Market Share

Apple is a likely seeker for the holy grail of computer tech magic. It already has several products out in the market that are fulfilling every need from business to entertainment. Currently it occupies the top slot in OEM with a 39% market share among US smart phone subscribers. Over 136 million people own smart phones in the United States of America. Apple came out on top of the stack of companies selling the product which is no more a luxury but has entered the realm of necessities. Among mobile subscribers: Samsung, HTC, Motorola and LG were the limited organizations rapidly catching up with Apple. As for smart phone subscribers: Google, Microsoft, Blackberry and Symbian were other giants which stood shoulder to shoulder with Apple.

According to a comScore report for March 2013, the results this May were pretty much what they had been since a long time. Nothing out of the ordinary occurred except for Apple’s top notch figure which had the owners and staff glowing with praise for each other. Apple appears to have left both Samsung and Google coughing behind in the dust. This marathon ultimately goes to the winner and it is none other than the late Steve Jobs’ dream child Apple. The domineering of Apple over the volatile market situation was a foregone conclusion. The genius and intellectual prowess of Steve Jobs is very real.  The man could have done so much not only for Apple but for the rest of the world had he lived longer. But unfortunately cancer overtook his meteoric career as a thinker, inventor and creator of the highest rank. It hardly comes as a wonder that Apple is leading the way.

The usage of smart phones and mobile devices has become so common that except for other species, nearly every human being on earth has one. The success of these portable pieces of communication carriers is due to the increasing pressure to stay in touch with loved ones. These may include family and friends or significant others. With the media mediating between individuals, face-to-face relations may have suffered a bit. Yet a whole new world of apps and entertainment via audio-visual devices has also opened up. This affords a great deal of stimulating vicarious pleasure for mankind. It points to a totally technological society where biology will have melded with the mechanical to form a bionic way of life.

The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
