GameStop will stop accepting PlayStation 2 trade-ins next month

Video game retailer, GameStop, will stop accepting PlayStation 2 trade-ins beginning June 1st. This applies to PS2 games, accessories, and other systems.

PlayStation fans saw it coming. Following Sony's decision to end the production of its PlayStation 2 gaming console last year, here we are with some news that Gamestop will no longer accept PlayStation 2 trade-ins beginning June 1st. This rather sad news applies to PlayStation 2 games and and accessories as well.

The news  came from a Reddit user named eGORapTure who posted a photo of the poster/ announcement online. Although GameStop has yet to release an official statement, Polygon is reporting that several stores have already implemented the plan, denying trade-in offers from PlayStation 2 users.
