Mobile PC Market can hit 762.7 million by 2017

The mobile PC market is expected to take off into the cerulean sky between 2013 and 2017. Among the super sell will be tablet PCs and touch adoption. This is expected to boost shipments into the stratosphere from 367.6 million to 762.7 million units.

Mobile PC industry will expand to a huge number in future. The time span ranging from 2013 all the way until 2017, which is four years in the future, is when sales of mobile PCs is expected to mount considerably. This novel trend was noted by NPD DisplaySearch. Most of these unit products featured touch-based systems. There is a transformation about to take place.

Tablets will be a substitute for notebook-style PCs. A lot of this change is due to the new face of technology which is getting more complex with each passing second. Most of these tablets are carbon copies which are being mass produced by China.

“The mobile PC industry is undergoing significant change this year,” said Richard Shim, senior analyst with NPD DisplaySearch. “The rapid rise and establishment of white box tablet PCs (tablets made by small local brands, mainly in China) is putting pressure on traditional notebook PCs. These low-cost tablets are reaching further into emerging regions where notebook PC penetration rates have remained low, resulting in cannibalization by tablet PCs.”

The infrastructure and technology giant that the Western World fears is taking huge strides towards its goal of economically dominating the east if not the entire globe. While considered an act of cannibalization in the technological universe, the fact remains that these countries are simply playing a game started by Western Civilization itself a long time ago. The only difference is this is payback time and what goes around comes around.

The shipments of tablet are forecasted to reach 579.4 million by 2017. While notebook shipments will decrease 10% and reach 183.3 million in 2017. While some shipments will decline over these four crucial years, there will be others which will rise with the expectations of the people. Especially those with touch systems are expected to show a whopping growth of 48%. Ultra-slim PCs will form the bulk of these sales. Among other models there is the Macbook Air which will be included in the items which will sell like hotcakes.

The Windows 8 OS will not be a regular feature of these Chinese clones. They will be dirt cheap to boot. This factor is the most attractive and will bring in the customers in droves. If a person who has limited income finds that he can buy a product that costs less than the real thing and works almost just as good why won’t he turn to buying it? The same person would be a fool if he was to pay extra cash just for the sake of a stupid brand or a mere label that will be not that different from the facsimile.

While this sort of thinking may reek of piracy and fake copycat behavior, it makes sense in today’s world of mass production and growing needs. The requirements have to be met no matter what. A little shoddy cheating makes no difference provided you get a deal close to the heart’s desire.  That’s the way the Tablet PC goes!
