Mars is going to get inhabitants after a decade. Over 78,000 humans have signed up already to visit Mars. Its a huge number despite the fact that its a one way trip. It looks like that Mars One plan of taking human beings(more likely to say astronauts) to Mars by 2023 will be a great success so far. Up until now only lone mission modules have landed and gathered computer-generated information from the surface of Earth’s cousin. But that is about to change.
Mars is a red planet that is always considered to be good to live on. As we have already told you that it has been officially announced that over 78,000 people have applied for the launch of the first human beings to the Martian environment. The date set for the flight to Mars is the year 2023. It has barely been half a month and already so many enthusiastic Martian wannabes have applied to be taken as aspirants for the role.
They hail from over 120 nations worldwide. The application collection will continue till August. But the selection process will be very narrowly defined. Out of the more than 200,000 expected to get enlisted in the quest through online registration, a mere few will make it to the final group. Those lucky few will form a colony on Mars.
The majority of the applications came from the United States and the People’s Republic of China followed by the United Kingdom. Then there were other giants like India and Russia. It appears to be that the reaction is very positive. The earthlings want to escape from the planet and become Martians in the process. For now this seems quite a desirable job.
The criteria include an age restriction. Only those above 18 years need apply. Then they also have to be willing to work on the artificial city built in Mars. The provisional conditions are there so that the interplanetary settlement becomes not only a feasible scheme but a workable proposition too. The total people that will be selected in the last analysis will be 28 to 40. They will be equipped with all the know-how and trained and groomed into competent astronauts that can take the wear and tear of the trip.
As for now, the only logical thing to do is to register online at the site for anything from $5 to $75, depending on the poverty or prosperity of the region you are from. Beyond that the selection process will go into high gear. Mars has always been a stock topic in science fiction stories. Until now the journey had been buried in the fertile and free human imagination only. Now it will become an actual and very real fact of the everyday world.
