When two giants meet sparks of creativity get generated in the process. A perfect example would be the linkup of Mozilla and Hon Hai Co.,also known as Foxconn, in an effort to come up with a new device (more likely a tablet) featuring the Firefox Operating System. The launch event is all set for June 3rd.
The rumors have been flying all over the place. The joint venture of Mozilla and Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. to debut their tablet is the talk of the town. Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer Hon Hai is the worlds largest contract makers, known by its trade name Foxconn. According to the Focus Taiwan, Mozilla in particular has already introduced two smart phones featuring the OS. The Firefox OS which has just got off the ground has attracted many commercially viable companies such as LG, Movil and ZTE. Mozilla has also persuaded more than a dozen mobile phone operating companies to stand by its new operating system.

Firefox OS caters to the cost-conscious groups. The free approach of Mozilla has garnered it widespread acclaim on the web. The only thing holding it back right now is the fact that Firefox has limited popularity in the market. A unique selling point helps in matters having to do with marketability. Where economics is concerned the cash nexus dictates that quality or use value matches the selling price of the item. So far Mozilla faced a paradox that it was unable to solve. But with a little help from Foxconn these obstacles will go the way of the dinosaurs.
One of the interested parties in this deal is the Taiwanese company, Hon Hai. An organization that makes electronics on a contractual basis, Hon Hai basically gets its daily bread from selling gadgets to Apple Incorporated. Both Apple and Google buy mobile phones from Hon Hai. And today Firefox is about to qualify among the product line for its clientele. The real reason behind this change of heart is that Hon Hai wants to extend its domain beyond Apple. When companies especially giant multinationals compete and cooperate they base their business decisions on split second critical thinking.
The dollars and sense of these mergers, takeovers and exchange of products relies on highly charged mental work carried out by dedicated tycoons who try to extract every ounce of profit from a product or service. The joint conference set for the 3rd of June will be a platform for announcing the new tablet. How it is received will determine the prospects for both Mozilla and Foxconn not to mention Hon Hai. Till than the three are waiting with apprehension and a certain amount of excitement. Hopes may be realized or for that matter dashed to the ground.
