Intel has confirmed that its leading chip technology is used in Samsung's flagship 10-inch tablet, the Galaxy Tab 3.
When Samsung announced the 8-inch and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 3 tablets a couple of days, many wondered who the chip manufacturer was.
Well, today, Intel has confirmed that the 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 3 from Samsung is powered by an Intel Atom Z2560 "Clover Trail+" processor. Morever, the new tablet will also tout Intel's XMM 6262 3G or Intel's XMM 7160 4G LTE chips.
Intel believes that Samsung picked their processor technology because they offer the "best balance of high performance, power efficiency, and battery life." "It's ultimately about the consumer experience, and we are confident people will be pleased with what Intel Inside has to offer"says Hermann Eul, General Manager of Mobile and Communications at Intel.
The choice seems perfect for Samsung. Intel's Clover Trail+ processor are known for their good performance. We're talking about graphics capabilties that are three times better and efficient use of battery - a huge improvement from its previous Atom model.
We haven't tested the tablet yet, but expect faster apps and responsive web browsing experiences coupled with excellent graphics.
