HTC Corporation has officially launched its low cost smartphone HTC Desire 200. It leverages the power of Google Android with HTC Sense and ships with Beats Audio, HTC Data Manager, 5-MP shoot & share camera. This smartphone is already in rumors from many days with unofficial leaked images from Vietnamese website and now company makes it official. It is expected to replace previous budget phones as Desire X & C models mimicking such handsets with limited features.
HTC Desire has three main key features.
- It has intelligent AI modules to control camera. The 5MP auto focus rear camera is easy to use and share on social media networks. The addition of filters lets you refine your shots before sharing with friends and family. Its advanced feature loves your smile and captures it even if you do not push the button. Its aperture is F2.8 and 34 mm lens.
- It is equipped with Beats Audio technology and HTC Headset to deliver quality entertainment for music lovers.
- People have choice of handsets to choose from and telecom operators. It has built-in HTC Data Manager Application that lets you govern your data plans and design best that suits you. It evaluates your data traffic and suggests suitable package plan to keep you in control.
HTC Desire 200 has 3.5 inch HVGA display and leverages the processing speed of 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor. Its width is 2.39”and height 4.24”which is too close when comparing to a credit card size (2.13”, 3.38”). Company has designed the handset intelligently by combining all required features in tiny size. It weighs only 100g. Internal memory is 4GB which can be extended to 32GB through microSD card. It has caching of 512MB DDR1 and has Android OS at base with HTC Sense extension. OS version is not mentioned on its official website. But pictures that are published on website represent represent that it would be Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0 or Jelly Bean 4.1.
Handset supports 2G, 2.5G, 3G, 3.5G telecom networks. It includes accelerometer, proximity and ambient light sensors. Desire supports all major connectivity technologies like Desire-600 and HTC One. WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 can be used to network with other gadgets. Company has only disclosed specification, features and pictures to tease users. Its pricing detail is yet not clear. But we can conclude that it would be targeted for low-end customers in Asian markets.
