Facebook iOS App Update Boosts Privacy Features

Facebook launched its new updated iOS app with enhancement of visual features and improved privacy settings for wall posts. It adds “How you feel?” like features to status updates using emotion like styles. The new version 6.2 has failed to receive positive response from users. Most of the people who installed new version have given 1-2 star rating. Facebook team has introduced a new feature to its status composer. You can add a personnel touch to your wall posts and status updates. It can be expressed in an iconic format. All posts can now be shared with an addition of icon so other can have a quick glimpse of your mood. App has icons for all type of emotions as reading, drinking, watching TV, eating or listing music. It seems familiar to emoji-style smileys that sent in chat.

Users upload millions of pictures daily to Facebook and share. They also send in messages as attachment. In previous version, you can view the attached image but now it has an added feature to send via message to another friend. Its procedure is simple, tap on opened image from a conversation. It will prompt to “Send in Message”. Tap it to initiate a new conversation without avoiding the downloading and uploading again.

Facebook developers’ team has added a post privacy control option for iOS users. Instead of posting all public are following pre-defined security and privacy setting, now you can set it with quick edit option. It is not new option and already available on iOS and Android but refined only with quick setting option to share with one, two, more or publicly. Let’s see it in a professional’s perspective. For example, I have a link to redeem a voucher or gift card and want to share only with one friend or family member. I can do that by selecting that specific person or friend from list of my friends on Facebook. If another URL or post has to be shared publically, just check public option. A tweak has been reported by tech expert that is not listed officially after testing the application. During chat you open multiple windows that can be minimized by tapping a certain mark. You can do the same task now by just swiping your finger.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
