Lenovo has launched a mix of Ultrabooks, multi-mode gadgets and IdeaPad models with Microsoft Windows 8. S-series has been extended with S400, S500 and S210 while U-series have two new Ultrabooks U330 and U430. Apart from these, a new multi-mode Windows 8 powered 10.1 inch gadget in introduced too.Lenovo has introduced another brand “Miix” along with extending model to previous S & U series. It is multi-purpose computing machine that can be used as notepad, laptop and Tablet PC too. Miix has 10.1 inch screen, Intel Atom Duel Core Processor, 64GB (eMMC) internal storage, microSD slot (supporting up to 32GB), Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS and proclaimed 10 hour battery time. New branded Windows 8 powered Tab is only 0.4 inch thin and has 1.2 pounds weight. To support multiple functions, it has detachable case with joined keyboard.
Development process of IdeaPad laptops started in 2008 with launch of different models and successive growth has been recorded as Yoga series (13, 11 & 11S), S-Series (S9, S10, S12), Y-Series (Y450, Y460, Y460p, Y470, Y480, Y500, Y510, Y560, Y560p, Y570 & Y580). The journey rolled out to deliver slimmest and fastest Ultrabook under branding of U-Series.IdeaPad has always provided competitive processing power and benefits in comparatively less price. Its metallic body is thin from 0.8” and weight up to 8 pounds. Its latest released S-Series models S400 and S500 leverage third generation Intel Core i5 processors and an optional graphics card while S210 is built with Intel Core i3 processor. S400 have 14”HD LCD while S500 – 15.6inch and S210 comes with 11.6 HD widescreen.
Instead of packing and delivering the hardware with an operating system, it follows HP and Acer footstep to introduce custom OS enhancement packages. It delivers one key recovery and backup solution that gives ease of mine to users. Being an IdeaPad owner, you can also leverage cloud supported data sharing and backup application.
U-series has main key differentiating factor of ultra slim and thing. Company has launched these devices to tap top-tier market as these are expensive. U laptops have been designed with as thin as 0.77 inch. The U330 Touch and U430 Touch have 10 finger capacitive multi-touch pad, voice and motion sensors, Intel Core i7 Processors and NVidia GeForce for Graphics. U330 has 13.3 inch HD display while U430 has 14 Inch screen. The internal storage capacity has custom options to choose from as HDD (500GB or 1TB) and SSD (16GB or 256GB). Such sophisticated hardware is cased in metallic body.
