The new TV show Devious Maids premiered on Sunday on Lifetime. It is the first prime-time show featuring an all-latina leading cast. The show is though getting criticized.

The new Lifetime show Devious Maids launched yesterday. The show has Desperate Housewives genes. Marc Cherry, the creator of Desperate Housewives and Desperate Housewives stars Eva Longoria and Sabrina Wind are the executive producers.

CNN reports though that there has been quite some backlash to the show from the Latino community before premiere describing the show a lost opportunity depicting latino women in stereotypical roles. Such controversy is though gold in getting the conversation about the show started and to build an audience. Most TV shows these days do not make into the second season. We will see if this controversy will keep Eva Longoria's show going.
