Snowden Is Not In Russia

The Edward Snowden story has another twist. Reports said that Snowden left Hong Kong and is now in Moscow. He was supposed to fly out to Havana, Cuba, but did not. Now Russian foreign minister says that Edward Snowden never entered Russia according to BBC.

What this likely means is that Snowden is sitting at the Moscow Airport in air-side area or he is not there at all and tricked everyone.

We Now Know A Lot More About Edward Snowden's Epic Heist — And It's Troubling

Source: Business Insider

Edward Snowden's in-depth interview with James Bamford of Wired offers details about his last job as a contractor for the NSA in Honolulu, which raise disconcerting questions about the motives of the former systems administrator. While working at two consecutive jobs in Hawaii from March 2012 to May 2013, the 31-year-old allegedly stole about 200,000 "tier 1 and 2" documents, which mostly detailed the NSA's global surveillance apparatus and were g ...

Bill Gates has the best ice bucket challenge we've seen yet. But, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is a close second. Bezos is normally a reserved, all-business kind of guy when he speaks publicly. Did a U.S. defense contractor help create the next generation of spyware weapons?

Source: Big Government

The Washington Post relates a fascinating little cloak-and-dagger story that ends with a heck of a punchline: a U.S. defense contractor was apparently working with the dirtbags who create spyware and virus programs to develop new tools for spying on people, potentially both foreign and domestic. CloudShield Technologies, a California defense contractor, dispatched a senior engineer to Munich in the early fall of 2009. His instructions were unusually opaque. As he boarded the flight, the ...

Greenwald cited an Iranian activist named Trita Parsi who claimed that "excessive police violence" in Ferguson can be blamed on the fact that the county police chief took a fact-finding trip to Israel in 2011. Wyden calls for constitutional protection for electronic records that go through third party

Source: Canadian Business Online

PORTLAND, Ore. – Americans are guaranteed the right to be secure in their paper correspondence, but online communication enjoys no such protection. That’s because the Fourth Amendment requires police to obtain warrants to search houses, papers, property and your pockets. But information sent and received online goes through a third party, and anyone with a compelling government interest has a much e ...

This week in stupid: Edward Snowden

Props to WIRED magazine for getting the interview everyone wanted: a full-length on the record with Edward Snowden from his Russian hideout. But that cover! Oh, that cover. The full image has to be seen to be believed. It would have been a provocative sight were Snowden not so comically dorky-looking. And, you know, a traitor.  With the possible exception of Snowden's media accomplice, Glenn Greenwald, I'm not sure any public fig ...
