Following the successful launch of its gargantuan 84-inch UHD flat-panel TV in the U.S., LG announced the coming of its 55-inch and 65-inch models today via press release.

However, folks outside Southern California will have to wait as LG has selected the state to be its launch pad. Partnering with the South Korean consumer electronics giant is retailer Video & Audio Center. Together, they will begin selling the models at $5,999 and $7,999, respectively.

For starters, LG's new Ultra HD TVs features a unique industrial design that touts a slim bezel and a 4.1 channel 50-watt sound system. And yes, it also includes LG's distinct sliding speaker and a motorized sound bar

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
