eBay debuts its first 3D Printing store by launching an iPhone app called eBay Exact. iPhone users can now buy customizable 3D printed goods of MakerBot, Sculpteo and Hot Pop Factory anytime, anywhere.

iPhone App 'eBay Exact' is Launched to Buy 3D Printed Items

eBay brings new 3D innovation for its customers. eBay debuts its own 3D printing store. The giant online retailer has launched a new iPhone app called 'eBay Exact' on Friday. Now the iPhone users can buy 'customizable printed' items of 3 main 3D printing companies through this app. Currently only 20 3D items are offered to buy directly through eBay Exact that can be customized though. The 3 main stores whose items are offered includes:

 

The 20 items offered mainly belongs to jewelry. But technology items are also there like Makerbot Items watch and tape deck MP3 player. There is also the facility to design your own custom iPhone casing with color, material, engraving and other options. The lowest cost item is plastic iPhone case for $9. The highest cost item is a $350 metal ring. All other item's cost is in between this range. All the items will be shipped directly from each 3D printer’s facilities. Yet the store is currently in beta version.

eBay Vice President of Innovation and New Ventures Steve Yankovich says, "Shoppers today not only want to buy items anytime, anywhere through mobile devices, but they also want to be able to personalize their purchases. eBay Exact brings these two desires into one shopping experience.”
