Snowden Asylum Request Officially Filed

Edward Snowden is wanted on espionage charges in the United States. His next move to stay away from the US government is to stay in Russia. As announced earlier in a meeting with human rights organizations, Snowden has now officially filed an asylum request in Russia according to Reuters . He wants a temporary asylum for one year. After that he still plans to find asylum in Latin America.

So now the ball is in Russia's court. How will they proceed? Will they grant the asylum?
