Acer is reportedly working on a refresh model of its new Windows 8 tablet to fix display and other issues. The successor of Iconia W3 can be released in September.
Acer has launched its new 8-inch Windows 8 tablet in early June. But it has some issues in it. Now Acer is reportedly working on a refreshed version of Iconia W3 that will be launched soon. The Verge reports today that Acer spokeswoman Sterre Swank has confirmed Tweakers that a new "thinner and lighter" successor of the tablet is under production.
The major issues that users complaint about recently released Acer W8 are its poor display quality, huge size and heavy weight. The LCD of the tablet is expected to be upgraded. Refresh can have IPS (in-plane switching) display with thin size and light weight. Refresh model of Iconia W3 is not yet officially confirmed, but it is expected to come in September. This is also not clear that what will be price and name of the refresh model. The current price of Acer Iconia W3 is $429.99.
