iPhone 5S could Have In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

The iPhone 5S could be the first iPhone with fingerprint sensor. Initial rumors have talked about the fingerprint sensor being part of the home button. Then some other reports claimed that the fingerprint sensor will be invisible and part of the screen. The latter theory is now getting more steam as Apple has filed a patent describing exactly this according to Apple Insider. The fingerprint sensor would be part of the screen and you just touch the iPhone screen to get scanned - I just say - exactly! THis is how it needs to be.

The patent filing is an AuthenTech patent assigned to Apple. Apple bought the fingerprint sensor company last year. As said earlier today, the iPhone 5 could feel outdated compared to the iPhone 5S because of some new rumored features including fingerprint access control.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
