The Senior Vice President of Apple, Bob Mansfield is no longer on the executive profiles page and he will now work on special projects as an adviser to Tim Cook. He has been abruptly removed from the site and and no reason has been given for the removal.
It could mean anything. Prior to the present, Bob Mansfield was SVP at Apple and enjoying all the benefits that went with such a senior post. But now his introductory note has vanished completely from the Apple website during past 24 hours, yet visible on Google's cache. MacRumors first noticed that Mansfield's bio is no longer available on Apple's leadership page. The man has served Apple well.
A year ago he had plans of retiring. Yet the plans were put on hold when he addressed certain concerns the public had with Apple computers and their link with EPEAT. In the executive shuffle in 2012 Bob got promoted. There are rumors of someone having accidentally deleted Bob Mansfield’s presence from the official pages of Apple Incorporated. But such an act is almost unheard of. Has he left the field open for somebody else? Apple was contacted and no explanation was given as to the conundrum.
However, the latest story is that the man was shifted from the executive team and was reporting directly to Tim Cook. He will be busy working on special projects. Apple's spokesman Steve Dowling told AllThingsD, “Bob is no longer going to be on Apple’s executive team, but will remain at Apple working on special projects reporting to [CEO] Tim [Cook].” But no such details are given that why he was moved and whether he will remain Apple’s SVP of Technologies or some new person will be hired as new executive.
Bob was one of the most prominent executives of the company. His silent removal from the executive profiles page of Apple points to some mysterious internal matters that are yet to be solved. Meanwhile, the CEO of Yves Saint Laurent, Paul Deneve who was hired by Apple will be working alongside Bob on the special projects team. Undoubtedly, there are some issues over Bob’s continued existence at Apple. The senior executive has spent more than a decade and a half at Apple. He has also been responsible for several products that Apple created. He had been recently working on the elusive iWatch too.
