Panasonic Announces LEICA DG NOCTICRON 42.5mm/F1.2 Lens for LUMIX G Series

Panasonic has just announced to launch the world's fastest auto focus lens for Micro Four Thirds systems. Panasonic's Lumix G series cameras will now be shipped with Leica DG Nocticron 42.5mm/F1.2 interchangeable lens. But no such pricing and availability details are given. We already have a glimpse of this fastest ever lens last year in Germany at Photokina trade show. But now it comes out of shadow as a real product.

And what Nocticron stands for? It means a lens having all proprietary elements of Leica including wider diameter and high quality lenses. The Leica DG Nocticron 42.5mm/F1.2 is actually the fastest F1.2 for a Micro Four Thirds interchangeable lens. It's a high quality Nocticron lens with larger diameter ever.

This Leica DG Nocticron 42.5mm/F1.2 lens comes with optical stabilization. Panasonic's Micro Four Thirds cameras have this lens with a focal length of 85mm that allows working in low light too. Panasonic has already shipped many Leica specified lens including Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 45mm/F2.8 ASPH. /MEGA O.I.S. and Leica DG Summilux 25mm/F1.4 ASPH.
