Sony has released an official teaser video on YouTube today for its new flagship smartphone called 'Honami' or 'Xperia Z1.' It also confirms that Sony Honami will be launched on September 4th, 2 days ahead of IFA 2013 trade show in Berlin, Germany.
Following LG's teaser video for upcoming G Pad 8.3 tablet, Sony has also released an official teaser video for it forthcoming smartphone called Xperia Z1 or Honami. The YouTube video is titled as "The best of Sony is about to get even better." Sony is all set to launch this new Honami smartphone on September 4th. Yet we have another official launch confirmation for Samsung Galaxy Gear too on the same date.

From some time, rumor mill is already hinting about the launch of a new Sony flagship smartphone which was given codename of Honami or Xperia Z1. Now the official teaser video shown below, confirms the smartphone existence and launch date.
Sony Honami will be launched 2 days before the beginning of IFA trade show. Specifications of the device include much speculated 20.7 MP camera with G-series lens that will help Sony to compete against other camera-powered phones like Nokia Lumia 1020 and Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, according to The Verge.
Other known specs of the Xperia Z1 smartphone include a 5-inch Full-HD display of resolution 1920x1080 pixels, 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory with microSD slot, 3000mAh battery and Android 4.2 operating system. Teaser shows that the smartphone will be water proof too.
