Nissan gave its competitors quite a shock by unveiling its Nismo smartwatch for car drivers. These smartwatches work in synch with the Nismo cars and are a miracle of engineering and technology.
While Apple, Pebble and many other companies were ahead of the game as far as smart watches were concerned, now Nissan has joined the gang. However, Nissan has resolved to evolve its smartwatch for the sake of Nismo cars. The smartwatches will perform various functions mostly having to do with the personal biometrics of the car driver.
These smartwatches will furthermore link the driver with the car in a seamless way. Not only will the watches monitor the vehicular speed, velocity and fuel economy; they will also measure the driver’s heartbeat rate per minute and other vital signs. Even social media is not left out in this great game of connectivity.
Furthermore, via Bluetooth this device can be plugged into a smart phone application. Sometime in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, this device will appear in all its glory for all to gaze at in admiration. And while these smart watches won’t be on sale at stores for a long time, they will remain the agent provocateur devices of the electronic avant-garde.
Already Qualcomm has a lead since it has come up with the Toq, its own version of the smart watch. Nissan has been known for its cars and now that it has added a bucketful to the smart watch scene, there exist new frontiers for the company to explore and exploit in the duration which lies ahead.
