New Apple TV in the works, rumored to cameo next month

Following the rumor earlier today that Apple will announce a refreshed Apple TV on the 18th, we're hearing news from MG Siegler claiming that a new Apple TV is actually in the works.

In a tweet, the TechCrunch columnist said: "I guess those excited about a software refresh in a week are gonna be *really* excited when new Apple TV hardware is unveiled next month."

Of course, there's no way we can verify his claim. But it sure sounds sensible. Next month, as you know, is October. And October spells another major event for the Cupertino-based technology giant.

Yes, based on previous reports, it's the month when Apple's next-generation iPad models will be announced. Siegler did not specify the actual features of the said new Apple TV.

It looks like we will have to wait and see until Apple takes the rabbit out from the hat.
