Microsoft offers iPad trade-in program

Microsoft offers iPad trade-in program

If you can't outsell it, then buy it. Apple's iPad is still the undisputed king of tablets, yet Microsoft is coming up with a brilliant solution - a trade-in program .

Launched in September 5, Microsoft is offering trade-ins for Apple's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation iPad tablets. Participants will get a minimum of $200 gift card from the Microsoft Store.

And since Microsoft's Surface RT costs $349, iPad users looking to upgrade their tablets or jump into the Windows 8 bandwagon will only need to fork $149. The speccy Surface Pro, on the other hand, is still pricey at $799. But for the price, you'll get Windows 8 Pro, a stylus pen, an i5 Intel processor, 4GB of RAM, and more.

The trade-in program ends on October 27. To enjoy the offer, the iPad must include a power cord and must not be password-protected. And, you'll need to avail it in select retail Microsoft stores.
