We have already told you about Apple is asking its suppliers to boost iPhone 5S gold production. It seems that the gold iPhones are the ones in huge demand now. Several different reports points towards this fact. The Asians are found to be the biggest lovers of gold. As iPhone 5S gold version is the first choice mostly of China Apple lovers.
WSJstates, "Matthew Ng, a 22-year-old university student, stayed up all night earlier this week to make an online reservation for an iPhone 5S to replace his aging iPhone 4. He wanted to order one with a gold color, but he says it was sold out on Apple’s Hong Kong website so he went for a silver one instead." China TV-station employee Lian Jiyu, who was waiting for an iPhone 5s gold in Beijing, said “Chinese people like gold.”
TechCrunch reports, "Currently, just a few hours after iPhone 5s orders have gone live on the Apple online store, the gold iPhone is the only model that’s showing a shipping time longer than “7 to 10 days”) in the U.S., and it’s not going to make it out to new buyers until October, per the order page. With every new iPhone, there are supply constraints initially in terms of how many Apple can produce, and it’s also possible that the gold iPhone carries additional constraints depending on how hard it is to produce the aluminum with that particular finish, but regardless it looks like the somewhat unorthodox color choice is the big seller this time around."
Not only gold, but all other versions of iPhone 5S are now short for sale. Apple has confirmed that iPhone 5S models are facing general shortage. Apple states to AllThingsD that all iPhone 5S colors along with gold are already sold out. A limited supply in some stores is now available for sale. Apple said, "Demand for the new iPhones has been incredible and we are currently sold out or have limited supply of certain iPhone 5s models in some stores."
