Facebook wants to use an artificial intelligence methodology known as deep learning. This will help it in gaining a better understanding of the stuff its 1 billion users post on their pages on the social networking site. The team especially created in order to handle this department consists of eight members.
The meaning behind the surface of what Facebook users share on the site with each other is being looked into. Once this goal is accomplished the site can cater to the requirements of its user base before they even make their requests. Furthermore, advertisements can be better targeted according to the audience.
This action did not originate with Facebook. Google has previously been using it in order to identify felines in its YouTube videos. IBM too has employed the novel technology all the better to win against human subjects in the game termed Jeopardy. Currently, it is looking towards medical issues.
Deep learning is a special technique that uses data in a specific way in order to get a feel for objects and information. It is hoped that some time in the future it will work in a manner similar to the human brain. Facebook can definitely improve the way it keeps track of its users. And with this new technology it will enhance the News Feed ranking on its social networking site.
